A Love Story in Two Parts: Amber & Emalee
Amber & Emalee are adventurers at heart. From the moment they met on July 29, 2017, their love story has been one of exploration—both of the world and of each other. With a shared passion for travel, they set a goal to visit all 50 states before turning 30 and to experience a new country together every year. But no matter where they go, their greatest journey is the one they share side by side.
Two Ceremonies, One Unbreakable Bond
In July 2020, amid a world of uncertainty, Amber & Emalee chose certainty in each other. Surrounded by only their closest family, they exchanged personally written vows, sealing their promises with rings and the words:
“With this ring, I give you my promise that from this day forward, you will never walk alone.”
To honor their union, they also included a special ritual—sealing a bottle of wine in a box, a symbol of the life they were building together.
One year later, on July 29, 2021, they gathered with their extended family and friends at The Ivy Room in Chicago to celebrate their love once more. This time, they opened the box, sharing a toast with the very wine they had sealed away in their first ceremony. It was a moment of reflection and joy—a reminder of the love that had carried them through another year.
Words That Matter
For both ceremonies, Amber & Emalee chose the reading Union by Robert Fulghum, a piece that speaks to the deep commitment and shared journey of marriage. Their blessing for marriage perfectly captured their spirit as a couple:
“We hope that you celebrate all of life’s milestones as you grow old together, enjoying each other’s wrinkles, getting lost in countries together, and bickering over what’s for dinner.”
This sentiment rings especially true, as their love story is not only about grand adventures but also about the simple, everyday moments. Whether they are planning their next international trip or debating what to cook—Emalee, the expert baker and breakfast chef, or Amber, the queen of dinnertime—they cherish every moment spent together.

Amber & Emalee’s love is an adventure—one filled with new destinations, shared laughter, and a lifetime of discoveries. Their wedding celebrations were a beautiful reflection of their journey, reminding us all that love is not just about the big milestones but also about the countless little moments in between.
