An Enduring Love at the MCA Chicago – Julia & David
On a crisp September day in 2019, Julia & David celebrated their love in a ceremony as unique and heartfelt as their journey together. Surrounded by the modern elegance of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) in Chicago, the couple’s wedding was a testament to their deep connection, shared values, and the enduring support of their families.
A Journey of Love Across Distances
Julia & David’s love story began with a spark that then defied the miles between them. Their first year together was marked by a long-distance relationship, one that had a 13 hour time difference. But it was that time that strengthened their bond and proved their commitment to one another. I mean, we know it can be difficult to stop yourself from binging a Netflix show even though you both promised to watch it together. It was this foundation of resilience and devotion that made their wedding day all the more meaningful.
A Ceremony Steeped in Meaning
The couple’s ceremony was a true reflection of their personalities and shared values. They chose to incorporate Rainer Maria Rilke’s “Thoughts on Love,” a poetic meditation that beautifully encapsulates the depth and mystery of love. The reading added a touch of literary elegance, resonating with their guests and setting the tone for an intimate and heartfelt exchange of vows.
Julia & David wrote their own vows, each word a testament to their unique journey and the promises they hold sacred. Their vows were filled with humor, honesty, and profound emotion, leaving not a single dry eye among their friends and family.
Blessings from Their Mothers
To close the ceremony, both of their mothers came forward to recite a blessing. Their words, filled with wisdom and love, were a poignant reminder of the enduring support and guidance that Julia & David have received from their families. The blessings were a beautiful tribute to the values of love, respect, and commitment that both sets of parents—who are still happily married—have modeled throughout their lives.
Julia & David, I hope the last five plus years have brought you many blessings, uncovering more of yourselves in this journey together, and enjoying many more moments with family.
