Intimate Wedding at Viceroy Chicago – Rianne & Tyler
Rianne & Tyler were introduced to me by their Viceroy Chicago contact just a month before their wedding day. As was the case during 2020, wedding plans were modified, discussed, modified, and discussed at great length. Rianne and Tyler knew they wanted to move forward with their wedding, even if it had to be modified to a smaller guest count to accommodate for the pandemic restrictions.
While we were not able to sit down over a meal together and really talk about their relationship and have the chance to get to know one another, we did make the most of the short time we had together. Gratefully, they both provided me with a lot of information in their short questionnaires that allowed me to more eloquently tell their love story.
A Pandemic Sidenote
2020 was an interesting year for weddings. I think the most difficult part of the wedding day was the fact that I couldn’t get close to the couples. There was no pre-ceremony 1:1 check-ins or hugs of reassurance for them. They also stood six feet away from me, which just seemed like too much distance for such an important ceremony. This fact made me quite aware of the words that I spoke. I spent careful attention to every word, making sure it was bringing the couple, and all of their family & friends together, even when they physically could not be.
The Wedding Ceremony
So for Rianne & Tyler, who clearly were soulmates, the ceremony was a very special moment in their love story. From the beautiful readings they chose to the perfect vow exchange, love was abundant in that room in September 2020.
I, Rianne, cherish you, Tyler, for being all that you are, all that you are not, and all that you will be. Know that I am here for you in plenty and in want, in sickness and in health, in failure and in triumph. I promise to dream with you, celebrate with you and walk beside you through whatever our lives may bring. You are my person – my love and my life, today and always. I choose you to be my husband.
Rianne & Tyler, I hope the last 3.5 years have brought you many blessings, laughter in opening your 1-year anniversary box, and the joy of growing your family. I can’t wait to hear about the arrival of your twins this month!
