A Love for Generations at the Four Seasons – Julie & Nick

Chicago does not have a shortage of luxury locations for weddings, and the Four Seasons definitely makes the top three places in my opinion. There’s no other place that Julie & Nick could have celebrated their sensational celebration back in September 2019.

As they told me from our first meeting, they met online and have not separated. They were destined to find each other and bring their love to fulfillment with marriage. Theirs was indeed a whirlwind romance, but a love to last generations. Goosebumps, right!?

Julie & Nick incorporated a few special moments throughout the ceremony – like honoring the fact that both sets of parents were still married, writing personal vows to share during the ceremony, and incorporating Julie’s grandfather to pronounce them as husband and wife. These special touches, along with the stories they shared with me, allowed me to help create a ceremony unique to the two of them.

Another element that I loved from Julie & Nick’s ceremony were the two readings they chose. The first one was “Love is an Adventure” by Pierre Tielhart de Chardin, a favorite of mine. The second reading was from Scripture.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another.

Romans 12:9-16

Such a beautiful passage that reminds us how we are called to treat our neighbors. As humans, we can stumble and fail in these tasks, but this is our calling. It is also a guide on how we are to treat our spouse, and Julie & Nick understand that.
