A Love Story Rekindled: Bryttany & Johnnell’s Wedding at Chez Chicago

 In Weddings

Some love stories begin with a spark that never truly fades. For Bryttany and Johnnell, that spark was first lit in high school. Life took them on separate paths, but years later, social media gave them the perfect chance to reconnect. From there, their love grew not just in the big, sweeping moments, but in the ordinary, beautiful ones — dinners out, cozy evenings playing video games, and long, late-night conversations. One extraordinary moment came at a romantic water lantern festival, where Johnnell asked Bryttany to marry him. Surrounded by glowing lights on the water, their next chapter began.

A Beautiful Wedding at Chez Chicago

On a crisp October day in 2022, in the chic loft of Chez Chicago, they stepped into their new roles: husband and wife. The ceremony, brought together by Windy Mini Wedding (a branch of Minnie Weddings), honored not only their commitment to each other, but also the family and friends who had shaped them and their relationship.

The Art of a Good Marriage

The couple chose to include the reading “The Art of a Good Marriage” by Wilfred Arlen Peterson — a piece that perfectly reflects their values. As I told them, it’s some of the best advice for couples, because marriage is a daily act of choosing each other.

Why They Chose Each Other

When I asked why, out of all the people in the world, they chose each other, their answers were as heartfelt as their vows.

Bryttany shared that Johnnell is the most dependable person she has ever met, deeply dedicated to their growth as a couple. He listens to her, even if it means being woken up in the middle of the night just so she can talk herself to sleep. And his smile? She admits she can’t help but stop and admire it — because it always makes her smile too.

Johnnell told me that Bryttany is considerate, loving, and beautiful. He treasures their deep connection, their shared values about family, and her drive to pursue her goals.

The Beginning of a New Chapter

Their wedding was more than just a beautiful October celebration — it was a reflection of a love that is steadfast, playful, and deeply rooted in friendship. Bryttany and Johnnell, I hope the last almost 3 years of marriage has continued that reflection of love and being the right partner. I wish you many years of happiness with your best friend!
