Caroline & Ethan’s Romantic Ceremony at The Ivy Room
On a beautiful June day in 2023, Caroline and Ethan were married at The Ivy Room, surrounded by the people who know them best and love them most. As their officiant, I had the honor of standing beside them as they made one of life’s most meaningful promises—choosing each other, fully and forever.
Their ceremony wasn’t just a formality or a prelude to the celebration. It was intentional, personal, and deeply reflective of who they are and how they love.
From College Hallways to a Lifetime Together
Caroline and Ethan’s story began during their first days of college at Miami University, where proximity quietly turned into connection. What started as shared dorm space and passing moments slowly became something undeniable—though, as they’ll both tell you, it took a little time (and a few years) for the timing to catch up with the feeling.
Their ceremony honored that long arc of love: a relationship built not on rushing, but on growing—individually and together. It celebrated friendship first, patience always, and the kind of love that feels safe, steady, and deeply known.
Words That Reflected Who They Truly Are
One of the most powerful parts of Caroline and Ethan’s ceremony was how clearly their values showed up in their words.
They spoke about kindness, about laughter, about being able to be their full, weird selves together. They honored the quiet moments—Sunday walks, cooking dinner, dancing in the kitchen—just as much as the big, once-in-a-lifetime milestones.
Their love story includes underage college football streams, ripped jeans, pandemic lockdowns in a studio apartment, and a very memorable first proposal that ended in a “no”… followed years later by a much more important “yes.” Every part of it mattered, and the ceremony reflected that honesty beautifully.
